DTM

Background

After Formula 1, the Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (DTM) is the most famous series of races in Germany and stands for fascinating motor sports. 

The races, which have been held since the year 2000, were started as the Deutsche Tourenwagen-Masters (DTM – German Touring Car Masters) and succeeded the Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (German Touring Car Championship) / the International ITC version, which were discontinued at the end of 1996. Only the DTM brand has been used both in the Deutsche Motor Sport Bund (DMSB – German Motor Sports Association) rules as well as in the official notices issued by the Internationale Tourenwagen-Rennen e.V. (ITR – International Touring Car Races Association) since 2005.
