Opel @ Cinema for Peace

Background

The annual "Cinema for Peace" awards have been staged alongside the Berlinale since 2002. The award’s ceremony is financed from donations entirely, which is very unique in the film industry.

"Cinema for Peace" supports movie projects that deal with global, humanitarian and environmental issues in particular. In 2012, Opel was the main sponsor of the event. By sponsoring the event, the automotive company emphasised its commitment to social responsibility by making an active contribution to environmental protection:  The celebrities invited, including Bob Geldorf, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Nastassja Kinski, and Opel’s former brand ambassador, Katie Melua, arrived at the red carpet in CO2-friendly Opel models.
